Coronavirus Update

Important update!

Friday 5th June

Please find information below for all parents and carers regarding our plans for wider school opening and pupil reports. There is also a link to a short (4 question) parent survey to help inform our future plans which we would very much appreciate all families completing.

Friday 29nd May 2020

Following detailed governor and leadership team planning, please find a wealth of information below regarding our wider school opening from Tuesday 2nd June.

There are several documents for parents to read including a letter from our Headteacher and Chair of Governors, risk assessment, home-school agreement, behaviour policy updates, travel arrangements and a story for children.

This information has also been shared as pdf files via Weduc, Parent Pay and Tapestry and will be available on the school website also.

We understand that this information might be overwhelming but we want our parents to be fully-informed regarding the decision to send their child(ren) back to school. The key message is that school is not going to be the same as it was when you were last here.

Initially, this is most relevant for Year 1 parents and key worker/vulnerable families but we recognise that other families will be interested in Clifton Green's plans for wider opening.
Please take the time to review all aspects of the guidance and expectations shared. As always, we are here to answer questions either via phone (555105 from Monday at 8am) or by email: or

A member of school staff will be in touch with all Year 1 parents on Monday morning to discuss whether your child(ren) will be returning to school from Tuesday 2nd June and to help answer any queries.

Friday 22nd May

We have further information for all families regarding the potential wider re-opening of school and at this point would like to share our outline plans. A letter from our Headteacher and Chair of Governors can be seen below alongside information from the York Schools and Academies Board who represent all schools in York.
It is important to remember that all plans regarding school opening are subject to updated government guidance expected on Thursday 28th May.

The documents below have been sent to families via Weduc, Parent Pay and Tapestry. We apologise if you receive this information more than once but we want to make sure that we reach as many of you as possible.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact school on 555105 or Facebook/email.

Monday 11th May 2020

Below is the latest information from the Local authority about the reopening of Schools in York. There will be more information to follow which we will update you on.

Parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response include those who work in health and social care and in other key sectors. See link below.

Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home and every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.

Please, therefore, follow these key principles:

1. If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.

2. If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a critical worker, then educational provision will be available for them.

3. Parents should not rely for childcare upon those who are advised to be in the stringent social distancing category such as grandparents, friends, or family members with underlying conditions.

4. Parents should also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

Further information will follow from school. Thank you for your continued support.
