Will your child start Reception in September 2026?
Parents and carers can apply online for a 2026 Reception place for their child at www.york.gov.uk/schooladmissions from 12th September 2025.

With an online application you will receive an email confirming submission of your application and the ability to view your application and results online at a later date. Please remember to submit your application after completing. If you can’t apply online you can request a paper Primary Application Form by calling 01904 551554.
The deadline for submitting ‘on-time’ applications for a place in Reception starting in September 2025 is the 15th January 2026. Applications can still be made after this date, but may be looked at after other applications have been considered. Please note that applying early does not give any priority, although to have the best chance of your application being successful you should complete and submit your application by the deadline.
