Each year, pupils from Years 3 to 6 participate in our annual concert, held at St Peter’s School in York. This much-anticipated event is a significant occasion in our school calendar and provides an opportunity for our children to perform in a prestigious venue before an audience of family and friends.
A distinctive feature of our annual concert is its changing theme. Each year, a new musical focus is selected, offering pupils a fresh and engaging repertoire to explore.
Previous themes have included:
Music Through the Decades
Disney Classics
Songs from the Musicals
Summer Hits
These varied programmes allow pupils to experience a broad range of musical styles while developing their understanding of performance and stagecraft.
In preparation for the concert, pupils dedicate time to rehearsing songs, refining performance techniques and working collaboratively as part of an ensemble. The process encourages commitment, teamwork and resilience, while nurturing individual confidence.
The concert itself is a celebration of the pupils’ hard work and achievement. Performing in a professional setting enhances their stage presence and provides a memorable experience that many carry with them throughout their school years.
We are immensely proud of the enthusiasm, dedication and talent demonstrated by our Year 3 to Year 6 pupils each year, and we look forward to continuing this valued tradition.
