Our LEGO League Club is an exciting and enriching opportunity for pupils to develop their skills in teamwork, creativity and problem-solving. Through participation in the internationally recognised FIRST LEGO League programme, children engage in hands-on STEM learning in a fun, collaborative environment.

About the Competition

FIRST LEGO League is a global robotics competition designed for primary-aged pupils. Each year, teams explore a new real-world theme and are challenged to:

  • Design, build and programme a LEGO robot to complete specific missions

  • Develop an innovative project linked to the annual theme

  • Present their ideas and solutions to a panel of judges

  • Demonstrate teamwork, communication and core values

The competition encourages pupils to think critically, solve problems creatively and apply their learning in meaningful ways.

Benefits to Our School Community

Our LEGO League Club makes a significant contribution to the wider culture of the school. It promotes:

  • Collaboration and teamwork – pupils learn to work effectively towards shared goals

  • Resilience and perseverance – refining designs and overcoming challenges builds determination

  • Creativity and innovation – children are encouraged to think imaginatively and develop original ideas

  • Confidence and communication skills – presenting to judges strengthens public speaking and self-belief

  • A passion for STEM subjects – inspiring future interests in science, technology, engineering and mathematics

By taking part in LEGO League, pupils not only develop technical skills but also strengthen the core values that underpin our school ethos. The club fosters a culture of curiosity, ambition and mutual support, enriching both the individual and the wider school community.

We are extremely proud of the commitment and enthusiasm shown by our LEGO League team each year.
